Hello. My GPS magellan Roadmate 2000 finally unbricked: you need to format SD Card in FAT system, then copy exe files to SD card: DM.EXE and MICMANAGER.EXE - in my case it is copy from file manager exe file. Insert your card in Roadmate and press power button: even if shows only white screen with progressbar, it will start filemanager or what you need. Then you will be able to use IGo or copy your original files to Roadmate if you have backup. In case of restoring original Magellan system you need to copy files taken from official upgrade to \HDD3 folder of Roadmate, index file + basemap + .imi map to \HDD2, sound files and POI to \HDD5. After that you will be able to start to use unit without SD card.
My unit was fully formatted, so it looks, that there are some files, which we can get only from owners of not formatted units:
- need some screen calibration file as after format it shifted for few pixels, at least discovered that system try to read from file calibration.txt in \HDD3 - be carefull - you can damage your calibration with this file - will need to re-flash again to recover;
- need to find the way to restore unit serial number: unit_id.dat and unit.xml do not translate serial to unit or need to understand where it should be located for it.
Also interesting fact discovered: TN_Shell.exe look to other .exe files in \HDD3 folder: if you will copy there music player and photo manager from Roadmate 2200 upgrade - you will find new icons on the main screen of unit :-), up to 6 on one screen.
Be also aware, that folder sizes are very limited to original files capacity, I did not find the way to change it - so you will stay mostly with basic functionality: i.e. you can copy to \HDD3 navigator.exe from crossover upgrade and enjoy new design of navigation, but then you will not have any more capacity available in \HDD3 for other files like photo manager and music player.
So, I will be appreciated for files copy from original unformatted unit for further progress and any ideas how to restore this unit to original state.
Need to say, that currently can run IGo8 basic functionality on the unit due to memory limitation (arround 18 Mb available after loading of file manager). Also need to discover if it real figure for other units.
